The short version

We write from primary sources, in plain language, and we date every page. No company pays for a mention, a rating, or a spot in an order. When something changes or we get it wrong, we fix it and say so.

Sourcing

Facts come from primary sources first: the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), state Departments of Insurance, a company's own official pages, the AM Best rating service, and neutral references such as the Insurance Information Institute. We link the source next to the fact so you can check it. We don't publish a premium, rate, or illustration figure as if it were an offer, because real pricing is individually underwritten.

No pay-for-placement

No company can pay to appear here, to appear higher, or to be described more kindly. We currently take no advertising and no commissions. If that ever changes, we'll disclose it clearly and our comparisons still won't be for sale. See how we make money.

Independence and its limits

Our reviewer is a former Florida life insurance agent and retired financial planner. Those licenses are inactive. Nothing here is a sales pitch or personalized advice. Where the industry's incentives matter to you, for example why an agent might favor one product, we explain them plainly and never invent numbers to do it.

Plain language

We aim to be readable by anyone, define insurance terms the first time we use them, and lead each page with a short, direct answer. If a page reads like a sales brochure, it's not doing its job.

Freshness and corrections

Company details and ratings change, so each page carries a "last updated" date and we re-check the figures we cite on a set schedule. Found a mistake? Email contact@lifeinsuranceapply.com. We verify against the original source and correct it, and we note meaningful fixes rather than making them silently.

Use of AI

We use AI tools to help draft and organize pages. A human reviews the content, and the sourcing rules above apply to every fact regardless of how a draft was produced.
